Edison CEO Warns Wildfire Impasse Risks Higher Customer Bills

Edison International faces potential credit rating downgrades to junk status if California fails to pass wildfire legislation, warned the CEO of its parent company. This downgrade could lead to hundreds of millions of dollars in additional costs for Southern California Edison customers. The lack of legislative action to address wildfire liabilities creates significant financial uncertainty for the utility, potentially impacting its ability to secure financing and increasing operational expenses. Investors should monitor legislative developments closely, as a negative outcome could lead to sustained pressure on the company's stock.
