The only other builder of large U.S. Navy warships, General Dynamics splits the same destroyer and nuclear submarine programs with HII through its Bath Iron Works and Electric Boat yards and is the sole competitor HII names in its own 10-K for shipbuilding.
Through its Marinette Marine yard in Wisconsin, Fincantieri beat HII for the U.S. Navy's Constellation-class frigate and bids against it for the same surface-combatant and amphibious programs.
Named by HII as a primary competitor of its Mission Technologies segment, Leidos bids for the same U.S. defence and intelligence services contracts in C5ISR, unmanned systems and cyber.
Also named in HII's 10-K as a primary rival of Mission Technologies, L3Harris pursues the same government customers for mission systems, electronic warfare and uncrewed maritime platforms.
Austal USA's Mobile, Alabama yard competes with HII's Ingalls segment for the same U.S. Navy and Coast Guard contracts for non-nuclear surface ships, cutters and support vessels.
