Its ChemTreat arm sells industrial water treatment chemicals and on-site service to power plants, refineries and food and beverage processors, competing head-on with Ecolab's Nalco Water business.
Since absorbing Diversey in 2023 Solenis sells both industrial water treatment chemistry and cleaning and hygiene programmes, the same two halves of Ecolab's business, to the same food plants, mills, hotels and restaurants.
Veolia's water technologies arm offers the same package Ecolab does — treatment chemistry, equipment and managed water services — to chemical, microelectronics, mining, power and pharmaceutical plants worldwide.
The Japanese group sells boiler, cooling and wastewater treatment chemicals plus ultrapure water service to electronics, steel, paper and refining customers, and has pushed into North America and Europe where Ecolab's Nalco Water is strongest.
