Through Kentucky Power in eastern Kentucky, AEP serves the same state-regulated electricity market as PPL's LG&E and Kentucky Utilities, competing before the same Kentucky Public Service Commission for rates and for new industrial load.

PPL Analysts Cut Their Forecasts After Q1 Earnings

PPL Corp reported strong Q1 earnings that surpassed analyst expectations. Despite the positive earnings surprise, the company has maintained its FY2026 EPS guidance. Analyst price targets remain mixed, reflecting a divergence in outlooks for the utility company. While the earnings beat is a short-term positive, the unchanged guidance and varied analyst sentiment suggest a neutral stance for investors, awaiting further catalysts or clarity on future performance drivers.
