SpaceX panic sends Verizon and AT&T shares toward their worst week in years

The market is reassessing the traditional telecom business model in light of this emerging technological challenge.

Why being dumped from the Dow is the ultimate buy signal for this — or any — stock

The article posits that being removed from the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) can serve as a powerful contrarian buy signal for a stock. Historically, companies exiting the index have often outperformed those that replaced them. Verizon, recently removed from the DJIA, is presented as the current beneficiary of this 'Dow curse.' Investors might interpret this as an opportunity to buy Verizon shares at a potentially undervalued price, anticipating a rebound and outperformance against market expectations.

Why getting dumped from the Dow is the ultimate buy signal for this — or any — stock

The article posits that being removed from the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) acts as a contrarian buy signal, citing historical data where stocks exiting the index have often outperformed those entering. Verizon, recently replaced in the DJIA, is presented as a potential beneficiary of this 'Dow curse' effect. Investors may interpret this as an opportunity to acquire shares at a potentially undervalued price, anticipating a rebound driven by the very factors that led to its removal, or simply by market overreaction. The narrative suggests that the market's focus shifts away from the stock after its exit, allowing for organic growth to be recognized.
