Sysco Corporation is planning a share sale to raise approximately $1 billion, intended to partially finance its substantial $29.1 billion acquisition of Jetro Restaurant Depot LLC. This move indicates Sysco's strategy to leverage equity to fund significant growth initiatives. While the acquisition itself could offer strategic benefits and market expansion opportunities, the share sale dilutes existing shareholders' stakes. The deal, structured as a cash-and-stock transaction, aims to bolster Sysco's presence in the 'cash and carry' food-service segment.
