The closest like-for-like rival: the second-largest US bank by assets competes with Chase in retail branches, credit cards, mortgages, corporate lending and investment banking for essentially the same American households and corporations.
Competes head-on for multinational corporate clients in cash management, trade finance and markets trading, and is the other big US issuer of credit cards on a global footprint.
The main domestic competitor on the consumer and small-business side, fighting for the same US deposits, mortgages, auto loans and middle-market commercial relationships.
Direct rival to J.P. Morgan's investment bank: the two consistently trade the top spots in M&A advisory, equity and debt underwriting and institutional trading fees.
Competes for the same institutional trading flows and, above all, for wealthy clients and their advisors in asset and wealth management.
The principal non-US rival for cross-border corporate banking, payments and trade finance, serving the same multinational treasurers in Europe and Asia.

India has lifted a trading ban on a unit of JPMorgan Chase & Co., which was previously under investigation for alleged index manipulation.
