Who this company fights with for the same customers
Generated on September 18, 2026 with claude-haiku-4-5 — shared with all users
P&G sells to the same supermarket shoppers in nearly every Colgate category, with Crest and Oral-B against Colgate toothpaste and toothbrushes, Olay and Old Spice against Palmolive and Softsoap, and Dawn and Tide against Colgate's home-care lines.
Church & Dwight targets the same US household shopper with TheraBreath mouthwash and Arm & Hammer toothpaste against Colgate's oral care, and with Arm & Hammer and OxiClean against its cleaning brands.
Unilever fights Colgate for the same shelf space in oral care (Closeup, Pepsodent) and personal care (Dove, Lifebuoy), above all in the emerging markets that generate a large share of Colgate's sales.
Haleon is the main rival in premium therapeutic oral care, where Sensodyne, Parodontax and Polident compete directly with Colgate Sensitive, Colgate Total and Colgate's denture-care products, often on pharmacist and dentist recommendation.
Through Purina and Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets, Nestlé is the largest player in the pet food aisles and veterinary clinics where Colgate's Hill's Science Diet and Prescription Diet earn roughly a quarter of group sales.
Reckitt competes for the same home-care and hygiene budget, with Lysol, Finish and Air Wick facing Colgate's Ajax, Fabuloso, Axion and Suavitel across the US, Europe and Latin America.
