Nippon Electric Glass sells display glass substrates and specialty glass to the same panel makers and electronics customers, and is the third supplier in a market that Corning and AGC otherwise dominate.
CommScope bids against Corning for the fibre cable, connectors and data-centre cabling bought by the same telecom carriers and hyperscale operators.
Prysmian is the other large manufacturer of optical fibre and cable systems for carrier networks, competing with Corning for the same network build-out contracts, mainly in Europe.
NGK Insulators makes the ceramic substrates and particulate filters that carmakers and truck makers fit for emissions control, the same products as Corning's Environmental Technologies segment.
