Merck competes with Pfizer across the same large-molecule oncology market and the same vaccine tenders sold to national health systems and US payers.
Its Innovative Medicine division sells to the same hospital and specialty-pharmacy customers in oncology, immunology and infectious disease where Pfizer's branded portfolio competes.
AstraZeneca goes head to head with Pfizer in oncology and respiratory prescriptions, in the United States and in the same European and Chinese markets.
Moderna sells competing mRNA COVID-19 and respiratory vaccines to the same governments, pharmacy chains and health systems that buy Comirnaty.
Lilly competes for the same branded-drug spending in oncology and, above all, in the obesity market that Pfizer has been trying to enter.
GSK competes directly on vaccines — pneumococcal, RSV and shingles — sold to the same public immunisation programmes and retail pharmacies as Pfizer's Prevnar and Abrysvo.

Pfizer Inc. has secured a significant legal victory as a Belgian court ordered Poland and Romania to pay approximately €1.9 billion ($2.2 billion) for undelivered COVID-19 vaccines. The substantial payout underscores the enforceability of supply agreements and provides a positive financial and legal outcome for the pharmaceutical giant. Investors may view this as a testament to Pfizer's robust contract management and its ability to defend its commercial interests, potentially bolstering confidence in its future revenue streams and legal standing.
